Hi, I’m Gail Ackroyd.
I’ve been working in school-based wellbeing since 2014, supporting students through both short- and long-term counselling. I also run group programs and work alongside students and their families to navigate life’s challenges with care and understanding. I’m passionate about working with children and adolescents because I truly believe these years are such a pivotal time for growth, healing, and discovering their worth, value and potential.
Over the years, I’ve built a broad and compassionate approach to supporting people of all ages. I have specialised training and a strong interest in areas such as trauma, grief, relationship breakdown, abuse recovery, and religious trauma.
As a Life Coach, I help clients gently move past the obstacles holding them back, empowering them to reconnect with their strengths and pursue the life they hope for.
I’m also a certified Supervisor, offering guidance and support in both one-on-one and group professional supervision.
I offer pre-marriage counselling through the Prepare and Enrich program.
In my work, I draw on a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Trauma-Informed Therapy, Somatic and Sensory Practices, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Creative Arts Therapy, Group Work, Psychoeducation, Tree of Life, Narrative Therapy, and Coaching.
My goal is always to create a safe, supportive space where people can feel heard, understood, and empowered to heal and grow.
