Building a strong, connected marriage or long term partnership starts long before the wedding day. Our pre-marriage counselling offers a supportive, practical space for couples to deepen understanding, strengthen communication, and explore expectations for shared life together.
Using the internationally recognised Prepare/Enrich framework, a research-based tool designed to help couples identify strengths and growth areas in their relationship. Through personalised assessment results, we explore key areas such as communication styles, conflict resolution, family of origin patterns, financial values, intimacy, and shared goals.
Sessions are guided in a warm, respectful, and reflective environment, helping couples build emotional awareness, improve relational skills, and develop tools for navigating challenges together.
Pre-marriage counselling involves a 4 x 90 minute sessions commitment. But before you make that commitment, I offer a free 15 minute consultation with each couple to see if they feel we will work well together.
If either member of partnership has experienced trauma, there is scope for me as a trauma counsellor to include trauma triggers, attachment styles and co-regulating strategies into sessions, or to add sessions as needed.
